Easy Trail  Sucess!

Despite the length this was probably the easiest fourteener trail I have done. (14er #6) Very gradual ascent even after Barr Camp. Pikes is a beautiful mountain and I love the rock formations just below the summit.

spring ascent  Sucess!

Spent one night camping in Barr Camp vicinity, had the summit to ourselves. Minimal amount of snow for the time of year due to record hot and dry February.

Pikes Peak Ascent  Sucess!

My first CO 14er, done during the 2005 Pikes Peak Ascent. It was a continuous conga line all the way to the top. We had thunderstorms above treeline, then hail on the summit. What a day!

Alternate Way Down  Sucess!

I went up a climber's route but came down this way. Pretty nice but a couple really sketchy snowfields in late January.

Up and out  Sucess!

Up the trail with my brother. It was beautiful down in town and blowing ice and snow at 30 mph as we stepped up over the top. Beautiful. Suprisingly, lots of solitude above camp.

Success!  Sucess!

Roundtrip in 11 hours. Pretty good time I thought. Such a beautiful area!

Winter Climb

Made it a little over 12 miles in but had to turn back due to the setting sun-mostly because of time constraints. turned into a 15 hour 25 mile day with no summit. Not a technical trail by any means at all, but simply exhausting because of the round trip distance.

Busy  Sucess!

Long hike, honestly i was little bored. I've been up this thing a lot and the east side here seems to be too busy. But nice mountain!

Barr Trail success  Sucess!

Manitou Springs to the summit via the Barr Trail! Not many people on the trail, but tons of people at the summit. Beautiful views of the plains to the east and mountains everywhere else.

Heck of a first Marathon! Summited in 4:24, round trip in 7:17. Great weather, and overall a pretty darn good time.
