Ahhh I had a slip and fell down a really slippery ice chute and twisted my ankle above the saddle. I definitely didn't feel like continuing on that particular day. =/

All the gain, half the time.
Hiked for the first time in February. LOTS of snow up there. Did again with my little brother. It was his first mountain. There was enough snow to nail down standing glissades on the trail over half the way down the mountain. Loved the scrambling sequence right before the summit!

3rd time November 24, 2013.
2nd time, RMNP was off limit, i had to sattle with Bear Pk.

via Fern Canyon
Came from S. Mesa en route to doing the double with S. Boulder and then down Shadow. Great day, sunny and although the winds were supposed to be gusting it was only a little breezy. Fern Canyon is probably the steepest sustained trail I've ever hiked, but the final approach to the summit, the last 100 yards or so coming out of the trees is truly awesome (and a relief!).

New Years Eve Hike via Shadow Canyon
Hiked Bear Peak before going to see Leftover Salmon at the Boulder Theater. Perfect NYE! Weather was nice and sunny>winds were relatively calm

The scrambling on the rocks near the top was especially fun.

Wow, I still remember a lot of the botany of the Rockies! Great hike on a beautiful, albeit windy day!!! Was so cold at the top that I had to switch hands after every bite while eating my almost frozen sandwich!!

Green, Bear, South BoulderClimbed all three of these peaks routinely while training for the San Juan Solstice 50 miler (aka Lake City 50).

first hike in the foothillshiked once via Fern and once via the saddle with S Boulder Peak. Shadow Canyon to the saddle is a great way to hit both peaks
