Since the Seahawks were playing the Bears, I figured I'd do my part and conquer Bearhead.
The trail had a lot of dangerously-icy sections but was mostly OK. We avoided many of those areas by hiking in snowy side sections. We never needed any use of snowshoes, microspikes, or ice axes... a seldom occurrence for Washington peaks over 6000' in November.
Quick hike and on to East Bearhead.
Easy trail hike.
Summit Lake nearby is a classic, started going there with the scouts when I was 12. http://www.willhiteweb.com/clearwater_wilderness/bearhead_mountain/cayada_285.htm
Bearhead Mountain might be over 6000 feet and have over 1100 of prominence but this mountain is actual a nice easier hike provided you can get up the bumpy Cayada Road.
