Beaver Signs

Passed by these and many other remains of tree stumps after beavers had taken them down while hiking along the Avery Creek trail in the Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina. I could make out the beavers' lodge/hut, or whatever the correct term is for their structure they make out of logs and sticks further down stream, but too far off the trail to get a decent picture. 4/9/06
