Steep and rewarding   Sucess!

It’s a steep exposed climb with incredible views. It’s pretty busy for Bozeman and is popular with trail runners. Would recommend as a warmup for the season

Short and Sweet  Sucess!

Ascended to the described trail from road 3328 on old logging roads and then via easy bushwhacking. The clear weather afforded some very wide ranging views; I could see all the way to the Beartooths and Tobacco Roots. Did this right after hiking up Long Mountain, the highpoint of Cascade County.

Great View  Sucess!

Most of the hike was pretty plain until you reach the summit. The view down to Rhoda lake was amazing.

South ridge from Dry Wolf Campground  Sucess!

I took the trail up Dry Wolf Creek and it turned out to be quite enjoyable. It may be a more fun way to immerse yourself in the Little Belts rather than the regular "peakbagger" route and I highly suggest it. And even though it is also a motorcycle trail, it is not torn up (thanks guys!) and is a very easygoing hike on a great trail. The huge open summit area on this mountain is absolutely wonderful and there are excellent views! Another great day in the mountains!

8 miles roundtrip  Sucess!

Hiked up and got down before noon so I didn't bake on top under the summer sun. Spent about an hour walking around on top between the summit and the slightly lower connected summit to the West.
