Better and Better
Climbed Big Baldy my last day in area as a consolation hike, but was blown away as the ridge got better and better after some unpromising trail south of what seemed to be the summit. Wonderful rock and air. Sad views of badly burndt Redwood canyon though.

Easy and breezy
Summit was engulfed in clouds when we started. Only partially cleared when we got to the top. A lot of burn damage and ash on the trail. Benchmark was intact. Saw a marmot on the way down.

Hike to Big Baldy
Hiked on the Big Baldy Trail. Got to the top of Big Baldy and the views were fantastic. You had a great 360 view and could see Dinkey Wilderness, John Muir, North Kings Canyon, Jennie Lake Wilderness, and Sequoia. The trail was straight forward and easy to follow. I wouls suggest to bring micro spikes if it is early in the season as there should be snow near the top.

Big Baldy Tral
Nice full moon summer morning. Arrived at the summit to watch the sunrise. Continued south to the next peak along the ridge and descended down to the granite peninsula. Out at the end the views were exceptional.

End of a week long trip to Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon. Was a nice way to end the trip and get away from the paved tourist trails all throughout Se/Kc. Had the summit to myself, with really lovely views of the canyon. And as a beautiful fog rolled in, I made my exit.

Big Baldy Trail
Too much snow from a recent storm had Matthew and I abandoning our quest to Sugarloaf. Went up Mitchell, Lookout Peak, Buck Rock and Big Baldy instead. Trip Report

The rewarding views from the ridge and summit were
well worth the moderate exertion. A large amount of
snow still lingered on the trail which made navigation
a bit tricky at times. Clear skies gave us a 360 degree
view from the summit.

Snowshoe Trip
Great afternoon snowshoe to the summit on Saturday afternoon of Presidents' Day weekend. Plenty of people in the park, but only a couple of us out on this beautiful trail. The views at the top were well worth the effort.
