Black Bear in Paradise Valley

A black bear searching for food before sunset as I hiked through Paradise Valley in Kings Canyon following a trip down the Muro Blanco in June 2013. He spend about 5-10 minutes searching for food all around, only 20-30 feet away at times.

The guy looked at me for about 2 seconds when I walked up and then went about his evening. I would whistle and stomp my feet and he wouldn't even look up for a photo!

Blond Bears have more Fun!

A little too early for blackberries,
but grubs and earthworms can be mighty tasty!
