nice rainy day with amazing views of Lizard Head - I was sitting on the top and was waiting for the clouds to clear up to get a view of Lizard Head. Tons of mushrooms alongs the trail.

Longer than expected!
I love this mountain, only for the fact that its broad, mostly treeless slopes provide enduring views of remarkable scenery. The Wilson group, Lizard Head, and the Ice Lake peaks (Vermilion, Beattie, and Fuller) all stand out from the slopes of Black Face.

Lizard Head Trail
Started up the Cross Mountain Trail and then on the Lizard Head Trail, where we crossed this mountain and to Lizard Head Pass, where we had stashed a car. Thought this was only a 5 mile hike and turned out it was over 10 miles. Great views!

Route Climbed: Trail from Lizzard Head Pass Date Climbed: July 26, 1994Happened to find my way to the top of this one and I am glad I did. Best views of the Wilsons and the peaks around Trout Lake.
