We loved this area. So much to do. We went to Wind Cave NP, Custer State Park and climbed Harney Peak, and Little Devils Tower, went to Devils Tower, and climbed Bear Butte.
There is so much to see in this area.
I've made several trips to visit the Black Hills and my wife, dog and I climbed Harney Peak. One would think that once you get to the Dakota country you wouldn't find any wilderness, but I was very impressed by the Black Elk Wilderness and the Needles for their ruggedness.
Harney Peak. Bear Butte. To stand atop these highpoints on the very same ground that numerous iconic Red Men of the Plains stood takes my breath away. I hold those tribal leaders in highest regard as I do the highpoints they sought out for reflection and inspiration.
Live near the Wyoming black hills now. Love this area and have done some nice climbs and days hikes.
Did some Backcountry Camping, fishing and prospecting. The beauty of the Black is incomparable to anywhere else in the Northern Midwest.
Worth a day or two visit
what a pretty area of south dakota!!
It was a nice trip with mom and Duchess. Raining a lot. We got very wet in our tent.
Been here a few times, great place!
Planing on moving to Sheridan WY in two years- Close enough to visit the incredible Black Hills on a regular basis.
a few times...harney peak at sunrise is amazing!
Visited in 1985 on my way to Minnesota. I want to go back and explore.
Have visited many times, usually stopping on the way somewhere else.
