Climbed in the afternoon with Marten. He didn't enjoy the long stretch of relentless uphill, but we both enjoyed the views on top. We continued to the vista point and had a snack before heading down.

Black Mountain Saddle
Nice, steep trail that doesn't mess around. This was an enjoyable hike up through the trees. Continuing on to Split Mountain wasn't so enjoyable.

Dayhiked from Black Mountain Saddle.
The first time I had tried this peak was in the dead of winter and had to start from Greenhorn Summit on snowshoes. That time, fog and clouds made it impossible to see which way to go once reaching Black Mountain Saddle.
