Windy with unfavorable afternoon weather forecast. Started at 2;30 am and in pitch black with 35-45mile hours winds i didnt think had a shot. But sunrise on chicken out ridge was beautiful and able to avoid worst of wind. First group on summit and had blue skies! Then last mile or 2 started thunder nad lightening and marble sized hail which hurt like hell. Overall what the adventure!

First Time...
...and probably won't be my last! Did this with a few friends from Boise. We had a great time camping at the trailhead with a pre-sunrise start. Saw some headlamps near the summit as we were stepping off - they must've had a serious alpine start! It sure is a steep climb but at least it's short. My friends had been up before and guided me through Chickenout - my first time on real exposure and it was fun. Left one who wasn't feeling well on the flat ridge just below the final summit scramble. Made the summit about midday with about 20 others up there. And of course we made it back down in about half the time!
Uncrowded, just before the snow hit. Cold in the morning, otherwise great conditions. Took about 6 hours.

Borah Summit
Perfect sunny day except for some windy conditions for standard ridge route. Nine hours total with appx five hours moving time. My 42nd state highpoint.

Scrambling Fun on COR
We had a gorgeous day, clear views and a successful summit. This was my first time on the summit and my 3rd 12er here in Idaho. The scramble was fun! The route through COR is a bit all over the place, but doable. Its a solid Class 3 scramble on solid rock, which is nice. We found very nice, but full camping at the TH. Our party of 4 started at 5am, and finished C2C in 10 hours and 18 minutes. We spent an hour on the summit basking in the sun, and took our time as we headed back down the mountain. It was a Wednesday, and there were many other parties on the mountain.

Don't Climb this on the Week-End!
Arrived on week-end, parking lot bulging with cars. Wisely waited till Monday when we had it (and the mountain) to ourselves. Enjoyed the Chicken-Out Ridge Route.

Fantastic!
The smoke bellow made the sunrise fabulous. Chicken out was easy and a lot of fun. Right after me two young guys summited, one pulled a paraglider out of his bag and flew off. Round trip 6 hours.

Most memorable experience I’ve ever had climbing. Did end up with HAPE…that’s no joke! Descending was difficult to do, in the shape I was in. But the ascension was amazing! The Golden Mile should be respected for what it is!
Went to the area planning to attempt Wyoming's Gannett. Due to several things outside of my control a successful summit of Gannett became unlikely and Borah became the first part of plan B. While this was a strenuous hike, the climbing portion (scrambling) wasn't bad at all, and I'm certainly not an experienced climber. We did get caught in a small storm while very close to the top, but came out unscathed. A little scary. Beautiful views, certainly worth doing. I'm no speedster, took me a little less than 9 hours round trip, including all breaks and waiting out the storm.

Just beat the smoke
My friend Morgan and I drove down from Missoula and camped at the trailhead Friday night. People were loud and rowdy all the way till 1am. Then cars started to nonstop drive in starting at 3am. Not a great nights sleep. Climbed chicken out ridge route, which was quite easy. 3.5 hours to the summit, 5.5 hours RT. Probably 50 people summited that day, definitely a popular mountain. First state highpoint!
Fast climb after an overnight storm. Turned out fine: relatively fast climb (4:40 RT) with perfect weather and just 2 other parties of 2.

Standard route. This was my first 12er and wasn't sure what to expect, it was a fun exhausting day! COR was sketchy but alot of fun, this kicked off my quest to do all the Idaho 12ers.
