Started from my house, second time going up. Took the preferred route this time on the right side of the stream, took the left the first time
With Willard Peak, Mount Ogden, De Moisy Peak, Floyd Iverson Ridge, The Needles & Black Mountain.
2nd attempt and we made it.
Wanted to grab this one along with Centerville Peak but ran out of gas on the Centerville attempt. So came back and got Bountiful Peak. It was laborious walking on the very slanted lingering snow on the Skyline Drive road but it was the best of poor options.
RT distance was 15.68 miles from Parrish Trail head. Fantastic weather, beautiful views. Long slog on skyline drive - about 3 miles each way. Orange metal box thing on top of the peak. I was surprised how far away the Farmington Towers were. I thought they'd be much closer. I also can't understand whey Bountiful Peak is north of Centerville. Shouldn't it be Centerville Peak?
Started at the Skyline/Session TH and hiked the ridge to Bountiful Peak. Also hiked up 8650 in the other direction.
10/10/11 Via car. This really doesn't count for a reall summit in my book, but I wanted to record my visit to the summit.
Summited via southern traverse starting at Sessions/Skyline Split. 4 1/2 round trip. Excellent views and much cooler than the city!
20 mile training run for the Wasatch 100. Went over Centerville and Bountiful Peaks.
Nice hike and great views of other surrounding mountains and valleys. Cloudy and windy day.
Drove up in summer, hiked with kids to the top.
Awesome views - watched a thunderstorm roll in over Antelope Island from the summit. Quick and easy hike since we drove up Skyline.
Been there many many times,
January 1994, with Burt Balzar.
This is where the hiking began. Saw a rattlesnake near the summit.
Went with my father-in-law. Snow shoed up the northeast side.
Hit this peak with my sister and brother-in-law after the first couple storms of the year. I won't claim too much on this one since we drove most of the distance up Farmington Canyon - but we did climb up to the peak. It was a cool view! I still want to climb the distance up to Francis Peak next year - via Bear Canyon.
Davis Creek - May 24, 2008 - Good steep hike during spring when everything is green and the waterfalls were flowing.
Parrish Creek - January 6, 2007 - This is a good winter climb in the Northern Wasatch. Bountiful Peak has great views of the surrounding valley and mountains.
Northeast Ridge - June 25, 2006 - Fun climb in spring when the road is covered in snow. I usually start hiking from the campground. Driving up Farmington Canyon is always interesting.
