Bravo for Yucca Brevifolia

A Joshua tree is preparing to bloom on the grounds of the Red Rocks Canyon NCA Visitor Center in Nevada. On this rare cloudy day in the desert, the Calico Hills are seen in the background. (March 16, 2008) Factoid: The Joshua tree grows only one-half inch per year!

Nah

That looks more like an artichoke plant than a joshua tree. But of course, I have not seen a joshua tree in this stage before. Cool pic there Sir Larry.

Re: Nah

Thank you, sir! Artichokes aside, quite the amazing place. Do you believe it? I had my car parked out in front of my brother's house along the curb, and a neighbor slammed into the back of it with his SUV. It was parked, for crying out loud. It makes me want to break out a violyn, and sing a sad tune about how our Nation is getting more dependant and less responsible.
Play it again, Jack!!! Take care, Dean ...

Re: Nah

Sorry about your car and i had the same thing happen to me. Fortunately my brother in law was sleeping in the front room and raced out and nailed the guy before he fled the scene.

Re: Yeah...

This was a bonified neighbor. He actually said he was trying to be a good neighbor. That was after the fact. Where is that violyn or fiddle??? Play me a happy tune, Dean!!! - Larry in the Desert
