Had a training in a hotel in the Spitzingsee resort. After work, grabbed my boots and stormed up to Brecherspitz via the west ridge. Would have been a two hour affair had I not run into an orchid meadow. Thus nearly missed dinner (was late anyway...)
From Neuhaus to Ankl-Alm, climbing summit over the north ridge. Short descent over west ridge. Following the beautiful ridge circle to a small chapel and descending over Ankle-Alm to the parking lot in Neuhaus.
Reaching the car just before the rainshower starts.
Lovely hike up from Neuhaus via Freudenreichalm and Obere Firstalm, where my wife Bobbie stopped to wait for me. Nice late summer sunshine became low cloud as I reached the West Ridge, but I still enjoyed going across that, (had to queue for the harder part!). Hiked through the cloud base to a nice sunny and very busy summit. Returned the way I had come.
