Hi Josh

I was told by a local that rainbows seen from this particular vantage point always appear double - something I have never seen before.

In response to your query - I didn't know and consulted Mr Google:
One of first hits gave the advice that if you see one in Yosemite you should "take drugs immediately... " Hmmmm, maybe skip that one
The most sensible answer came from Mr Wikipedia, bless him (or her) - something about the light being reflected twice in the rain drops so you get a 2nd rainbow the reverse of the first... anyway, here is the link:
