Bristlecone pines (Pinus longaeva), which can reach an age of well over 4000 years old, grow on the trail to the rock glacier on Wheeler Peak, Great Basin National Park, NV. Imaged in August 2007.

Actually, in the past three weeks, five for me and six for Curtis: Yosemite (for Curtis), Lassen Volcanic, Redwood, Crater Lake, Canyonlands and Great Basin, of course. Thanks for taking a peek at my image.
