A perfect winter day  Sucess!

Started off at the Car Park near the whitehouse. Beautiful clear skies and cold temperatures. Ascended via the curved ridge route. Began to snow halfway through the climb and descended via the standard walkers route. A perfect day out!

An Ascent in the Clouds  Sucess!

Climbed up this on the summer solstice in fog. A tiring trip, along with an ascent of Stob na Broige down the ridge. My first Munros.

Curved Ridge  Sucess!

Really nice day out, good weather, even little bit too hot. If you are a rock climber don't take the rope, no point to carry it with you all the way up.

Pole bender and other mishaps  Sucess!

With Ken via the normal route up Coire na Tulaich. Very wet with windy conditions from the ridge entry up to Stob Dearg. Descending from the ridge, I slipped down a bit and all the force went onto one of my poles which bent into a banana shape. A rough and ready straightening with a boot was all the remedy required. The heavy rain and high humidity managed to kill both my mobile 'phone and my digital camera in spite of them being tucked inside a 'waterproof' jacket pocket. Unfortunately views were unavailable from the top but from the Kingshouse where we drained off with a pint of sheepshaggers and an excellent bowl of lentil soup we could at least see where we had been earlier.

Several ascents  Sucess!

One of my favourite mountains - climbed several times, mostly via curved ridge - and in 1990 flew from the summit by paraglider. In those days wouldn't have been very many to have done that - a situation which would soon have changed. My last ascent was in 2004.

North Buttress  Sucess!

Climbed via the North Buttress (IV,4). Lower pitches were in summer condition, middle of the route was out of condition with mushy snow and semi-frozen turf. Top of route was in excellent condition. Started route at 10.45am, finished 12.45am! Tough in current conditions but a great mountaineering outing.

Curved Ridge in winter  Sucess!

Great little ridge with fun climbing all the way. We soloed most of it but roped up for some technical steps in the middle of the route. Shrouded in clouds all the way, though, so sadly no summit view.

Route: Curved Ridge  Sucess!

With the weather looking decent and after a warmup up on the CMD at Ben Nevis the day prior I wanted to give this route a try. The Buachaille is without a doubt one of the most beautiful mountains I've ever been on. Fantastic day out scrambling and probably one of the best days I've had in the mountains.

Epic for a hiker!  Sucess!

Nearly killed myself! I was hiking the West Highland Way in Oct and hadn't seen the sun yet, when I got the bright idea to climb the Buachaille. The weather was overcast, but I could see the summit, so I went for it. More clouds rolled in as I reached the summit and it began to rain. Visibility was about 15-20 ft (sorry not in meters) and I ended up descending a very steep and wet gully. Thought I might fall to my death on several occasions. This was all done solo nonetheless. Not smart!!!

Ran up  Sucess!

Midges chased me all the way up from road on a hot summers day , so ran up and down then jumped in the river. Left Julia at road being eaten by midges too!
