Easy run up Buckeye  Sucess!

Took a Friday off to just git outside. Sunny, breezy, great views. I recommend taking the Sangree route up to the hut then over the hump to the summit of Buckeye, then descend due east, then southeast across an upper bowl aiming for the road that is visible due east lower in the canyon. Makes it a loop rather than an out and back.

Buckeye w/ ski descent  Sucess!

Climbed the "standard" south slopes route via the Sangree hut trail. The cornices along the south were a bit tricky to negotiate. Ski descent of southeast face to Buckeye Lake and then out the Buckeye Lake road. Some great potential lines on this face, some of which are quite steep and guarded by cornices, plan your routes carefully!
2nd Time: 11/3/19 with Floyd, southeast ridge via Buckeye Lake Road.

Buckeye  Sucess!

I climbed the mountain over three days with my seven year old son Kessler and three friends; Jeff, Erin and Ryan.

Kim (my wife) and Shaylee (my five year old daugher) also came along, but they stayed in the cabin on summit day.
