Long (25 km) roundtrip: Vallorcine - Val de tre les Eaux - Le Cheval Blanc - Pointe du Genevrier - Le Buet - Ref Berard - Vallorcine. 9,5 hour in total. Maps show trail bypassing Pointe du Genevrier, but it is easily climbed. Some cables on northwest ridge of Le Buet but VF gear not needed. Great weather and awesome views of the Mt. Blanc range.

Trai Running
I ran to the top of this mountain twice. Both times in 2014. I don't know why I did that.

Acclimatisation Walk/Peak.
Walked up from Le Buet Village a.m. after arrival in Chamonix previous evening. Good acclimatisation Peak offering an overnighter if required at Refuge de la Pierre Berard. Didn't do this, in retrospect would have been nice..and easier. Plenty of snow still about but crampons not needed though axe carried Leki poles sufficed. Lovely weather and a great Summit had it to ourselves though plenty doing hut walk.
I did it lots of times, long but easy. Veryu classical, better to go there skiing, often april is the best time

normal route/half day hike 3.5hrs to summit
Great day forecast so I thought I'd do something with it. Forecast was wrong, summit was stuck in cloud most of the time I was there, will have to go back to get the views. It was also crawling with people. Very very busy route.
Long but amazing hike, really enjoyable, lots of wildlife, great views towards Mt. Blanc from the top.

Route Climbed: Normal Route
A long slog with neve all the way from about 2300m to the summit. 14 hours all in from Le Buet and back. The weather turned fairly unpleasant as we ascended the final slate slope towards the weather station and the summit ridge and stayed that way for much of the descent, right down to the Col de Salenton. Some great glissading fun to be had though.
Route Climbed: Normal route Date Climbed: 12 June 2005
Climbed late-ish in the day and had the place almost to myself. Found it to be very good practice for Mt Blanc in terms climb length. Plenty of wildlife in the flat run-in to the climb proper.
