Isolated
The crux was getting to where we started hiking from. We had done another very isolated peak the day before (High Bald)but the roads were better and they seemed easier than what we encountered on Butte. Except for the ticks, the hike was easy and pleasant and we were treated to a bunch of wild horses that did their best to entertain us as we neared the top of the mountain. My other companions were Ken Jones and Dennis Poulin and this was our 5th peak together in 5 days.
