Bike via the road  Sucess!

I rode my mountain bike up the auto road one drizzly morning in July 2006. Acadia is a really awesome park and the views from this peak are spectacular. This was the apex of a month long trip for me from home in California and back again (11,952 miles). Great all around experience!

Acadia National Park  Sucess!

A nice little hike from Blackwoods Campground to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. We added a couple of miles by taking the trail from Cadillac's west face, down to Bubble Pond and back. This section was more of a scramble as it was a 1000 ft elevation change in .9 miles. Beautiful weather for early October.

Fog Cleared  Sucess!

Fog cleared just as the sun rose. Cold and windy October morning, but it was gorgeous.

nice views at night  Sucess!

Been up a number of times via both the road and trail. The night view of Bar Harbor with a clear star-lit sky is spectacular.

Cadillac West Face  Sucess!

Had Jen and my parents drop me off at Bubble Pond after doing South Bubble so I could hike the West Face trail. Saw hints of a sunset, but views deteriorated the closer I got to the top. Great lightning storm afterwards that probably would have been cooler from the mtn.

A few more people than Baxter  Sucess!

Took some time to take in a little Acadia after spending the previous 3 days in Baxter State Park doing some peak-bagging. Had a gorgeous day. Nice views from the summit. Since we only had 3 hours took the easy way to the top. Will be back soon to complete the full hike up.

Took the hard way up  Sucess!

Took the west face trail up, then spent a half hour looking in between all the tourists to try and find the summit carin.

Long Ago  Sucess!

One of the first peaks I climbed. This one was as a Boy Scout during a trip to Acadia National Park (sometime during the 80s).

A gothic peak  Sucess!

There's something Old World about this peak. Maybe it's the weathered granite and the slate-gray sea. Via the North Ridge route. Very cool.

Took the easy way up  Sucess!

Beautiful foggy day up there, enjoyed it very much even though much of the view was obstructed.

Route: trail from sea  Sucess!

Short distance- but rather exhausting. High-stepping up endless boulders really takes it out of ya. Way too many people at the top! Pleasant views.

The rising sun split and bubbled through the clouds for minutes  Sucess!

Wow...the sun rising (or I guess more the earth spinning in its direction) over the Atlantic ws incredible. The sun seemed to slither, bubble and squeeze into multiple globes through multiple layers of clouds on the narrow horizon. Wow!
Thanks Ralph Swanson you slacker...bubble Rock was awesome too~!

road  Sucess!

When we found out that Mount Washington had received 14 inches of snow on Monday, my wife and I decided to head to Maine early. We took the detour to Acadia NP and then headed north to Millinocket where we spent the night before climbing Katahdin.
