Amazing place! Falls looks like something tropical. Calf Creek - super cold and holding some trout. When you drive through this country you don't see much water-good place to get your water fix!
Few places make can really make you feel like you are in a National Geographic special, or in a Hollywood film, but Calf Creek Falls is one of those surreal places. It can be hot in the summer, and the swim at the end is quite frigid, it makes you long for the hot walk back. I have done this many times and it never ceases to amaze! Remember to look for the petroglyphs halfway up on the east side of the canyon. There is a number marker to mark which they are.
I've hiked both the upper and lower many times. Can get quite crowded but awesome.
Upper is amazing. Check out lower in the evening when crowds have died. Beautiful
A beautiful hike on a sunny day to Calf Creek Falls. Saw the Escalante elementary school kids there for their field day.
Went to both Upper and Lower Calf Creek Falls. There is a pretty cool or should I say cold? swimming/divng hole just above Upper Calf Creek Falls. Water is freezing, a great way to spend an afternoon!
Did hike to Upper Calf Creek Falls on an extremely windy day.
Fun short hike to a great waterfall. Had plans to rappel it but ran short on time.
Nice little hike right off the highway.
Hiked up to the Lower Falls and back from the campground, good trail, Great hike, Nice falls and Canyon.
One of the Hidden gems is the area between the falls, great pools and isolation for not to much effort.
cold, cold water, even on a hot summer day. The falls are really nice. We spotted several deer along the trail.
This is a very nice easy hike. The falls are incredible, and the Fremont Indian graineries and pictographs are nice side atractions in this canyon.
Great hike with tons of things to see. Particularly loved the pet crow at the end.
nice easy stroll to beautiful falls. did this as my last horrah after a week in so. utah. great cap to a great trip.
Jumped in at the end, very cold. Wonderful gentle hike, I went barefoot.
I've hiked to the lower falls twice. First time, jumped in the cold water, and immediately turned purple. More recently, did a 28-mile bike ride along Route 12 across Calf Creek Canyon and then hiked to the upper falls and skinny-dipped in the pool. Both falls are extremely gorgeous, and the entire canyon is very pretty.
My girlfriend and I did the hike to the lower falls in the evening after doing Spooky and Peek-a-Boo in the morning. One of the best days of hiking I have ever had.
If I'm not in a rush to get back to So-Cal, I LOVE Hwy 12! It is a fantastic trail run if you don't hit the peak season, and times when there are crowds :)
I hiked up to the lower falls with my wife. We got to the falls at dusk and were greeted by a gang of bats. The falls were beautiful, I would like to return again in the future.
