Nice day up the trail, high winds obscured the views from the summit. Busy but enjoyable.
Me and my wife were in town and got it done in the morning before we left. Glad we did it instead of sleeping in.
Can't beat Phoenix weather in Feb!
1/27/17 Busy day running up Cholla...getting stuck behind people several times cost me a sub 20 minute finish...ended up 20:13 on the way up. Wind was pretty intense.
12/23/15 Ran up easy with Brit, down hard in 11:33
1/19/15 Ran/Climbed up the new Echo Canyon Route in 20:23
Nov. 24, 2012 Ran up to the top at sunset via Cholla in 21:38...pushed it pretty good. Haven't done anything like that in a long time. It was a nice follow up after doing the long run/hike up Superstition Peak yesterday. We had a fun time going down in the dark and enjoying the cooler temps. Looking forward to going back and doing it again from the echo side sometime.
Being from WA, this was a lovely first summit in beautiful AZ!
Started up at 5 am. All the pollution makes for a fantastic sunrise.
I grew up in the valley so I've done this a few different times. It is a really fun little hike. I'm amazed how it seems to always be crowded and how I always meet people from foreign countries on the top.
Meh. too many people.
In town for a Giants game, so i guess hiking Camelback was the thing to do. What a ZOO!
Visiting in the Scottsdale area for work, staying at the CamelBack Inn. Couldn't resist the call of CamelBack. Up Cholla trial and down Echo Canyon.
Nice winter hike while in Phoenix via Echo Canyon.
Have climbed this one quite a few times.
Easiest winter summit to date
Climbed from the north side with Ezra Danciu and Todd James. Bring plenty of water even early in the morning. Todd ran out and begged some guy for a drink. Hahaha! Awesome view from the top.
I've climbed it nine times during 2000-2009. Always a fun scramble via Echo Canyon.
Hiked up via Echo Canyon in the morning, before the sun made it all the way over the mountain. It's a fun scramble——plenty of boulders and rocks, but nothing too dicey. Awesome desert scenery and great views of the Valley of the Sun from the top.
I lived in Tempe for 4 years in the early '90s but somehow never decided to go climb Camelback.
Finally did so. Pics and Commentary here.
Great hike via Summit Trail! A little steaper then I had originally planned but that made the experience even better. I can't wait to go back and do it again.
Great little hike, great city views. The hike was made more challenging by the crowds of people coming down while I was going up.
Nice climb before BCS National Championship Game>>>WDE!
