Hiked this trail with Dan while we were in the area for spring training. A must do hike when in the Phoenix area.
Hiked with my wife and some friends while we were in town for a wedding. Lots of people but still nice.
Returned with Benjamin (our middle child) after his Nike regional XC meet. Cebolla trail, nice day. 11/23/19
A friend, my wife, and I climbed up this gorgeous peak during a sunny morning, the day before a mutual friend's wedding. It was a good workout, and well worth the trip.
Great place to meet new people.
Short but pleasantly steep.
Wish I had one of these in Chicago.
I used to climb this mountain as a kid when I would visit my grandparents.
Climbed this with my Father-in-law and Brother-in-law in December of 1998 or 1999.
can anyone say brutally hot... We started at 5 in the evening and climbed suicide 5.5, to summit a little under 2 hours later. Then we continued to scramble in hopes of finding the true summit. To bad it got dark and we hard to do a rappel down a random gully. Dont get off route or lots of bad rock awaits you.
Climbed to summit from Echo Canyon on National Trails Day 2007...loved this climb! It was a hot day in Phoenix...107 degrees F! Very steep, hot, and scenic!! We have a detailed trip report and photos on our website
Natural Born Hikers-Camelback Mountain
This was a great climb-crowded, yes, but worth the hassle. I was not prepared for the continuous upward climb, but it made my success even sweeter.
Was pleasenty surprised by this spur of the momenet jaunt while visiting AZ.
Climbed it with my wife in the middle of the afternoon. Very fun trail but lots and lots of people. Only our second day in Phoenix. Probably going to make this one a weekly ritual.
short fun hike
Too crowded. It is an interesting hike, but there are too many people on this trail. Probably a super early morning start would be better. It has few very exciting sections.
Done this hike many times
Great views, similar to Mount Si in Washington State
Great Time on vacation!
A great family trip during my life in Scottsdale..
This was a pretty fun little hike. Went up the 'easy' Cholla Trail way. No problem for an out of towner like me from Oregon. It was nice not to have to push through a snow pack or mud and rain. Or scramble across cold wet rocks. I'll do it again.
The first of several hikes to the top of Camelback, the Phoenician's local equivalent to the Empire State Building. Beautiful views of the desert and a bird's eye view of the city. Classic "man vs. nature" stuff here. Lots of fun!
