We almost got there too late before they close the campus for the weekend...
I convinced my mother that during my trip to Indiana that it would be a good idea to drive to Ohio to complete my 11th State highpoint and her first. We had a good day. Back to bigger highpoints in Colorado.
Well it's better than MS for sure. I don't know what to make of this highpoint. It's not like it's all trashed up, it's well maintened, but it's kinda boring. It was a bit windy when I was there. Really no view though of anything special, and it lacks a flavor like IL and IN have.
Jogged to top, got photo, jogged back.
Off to Cleveland via scenic route. Second state and 5th county HP of day. Intersting, this site was an early warning radar site in the Cold War. Ohio had alot of soybeans!
I visited this one with Bristol Ellington who has accompanied me on actual hikes/climbs in the past. We drove up from Dayton where we were attending a conference and visited this one at 7:20 AM.
Ugh, this was when I knew I had become a highpointer.
Highpoint #14. Took turns driving all the way out & back with a similarly-crazed fellow highpointer from MA, just to bag IN & OH.
Meh. Bored over Thanksgiving holiday.
Not the most inspired 'summit' around.
Our highpointing adventure has begun.
Visited this state highpoint when I happened to be travelling in the area anyway.
It was a nice day in Ohio to bag my 27th highpoint. I reached 30 highpoints by the end of my trip!
