HP #12
After visiting Indiana, this one was almost exciting...

HP #3
I (with my wife (Tracy) and son (Alex), then almost 2 yrs old) did this as part of our first family HP trip.
On 11 Aug 2008, I revisited with my son (now 8) and my daughter (Gabriella), 4 - we drove into the vocational school through the gate and around to the high point.
There wasn't much going on at this HP during the weekend, but a State HP is a State HP. Beautiful weather, green grass, no bugs.
This was the fourth of seven HPs attained on my most ambitious weekend HP road trip to date.

HP #33
HP #33. Drove down from NY to grab 3 HP's and enjoy a weekend away. Not exciting, but well kept and the green pastures along the way were green and beautiful.
I detoured to Campbell Hill on my way back to Indy at the end of a business trip. Although the highpoint was less than exciting, the drive through Ohio farm land was scenic and relaxing. I tried visiting nearby Ohio Caverns, but didn't have time to wait for the next tour. HP6
Drove through the night from Wisconsin to Plymouth, Indiana. Survived the earthquake. "Climbed" the Ohio highpoint on a sunny Spring day. Continued on to Cincinnati and watched the Brewers defeat the Reds 5-2. HP #31.

DROVE UP TO VISIT SUMMIT WITH MY WIFE

Groundhog Day Summit
Drove 3 hours from Indianapolis with an energetic, completely wired Weimaraner, total disaster. But this was my first highpoint, and I'm hooked. I hit Hoosier Hill on the way back for my second. The signage is nice at the top of the hill, got some good pictures for my soon-to-be lame "double summit" trip reports.

Ice Cold Wind
Highpoint #2 for all 5 of us. Stopped by as we drove across the state; had called to get the campus gate left open. Mainly memorable for the wind & ice pellets

Highpoint #20
We camped at Hueston Woods State Park in Oxford, Ohio. Between the low of 32 degrees and the midnight rain, it was a little cold. My wife and I enjoyed the time together and seeing the countryside of Ohio.

Honesty, the best policy.
At least they are honest in calling it Campbell Hill and not Mount Campbell or Campbell's Peak.

One of my first real climbs. Almost didn't make it. I ran out of formula just below the summit and was in need of a clean diaper, but I persevered and continued on. Made it back to the car just before a big storm set in obscuring the summit.

Wish my home state had something better to offer.
Still enjoyed checking out this highpoint. I even made a return trip 15 years later (4/27/07) with my two kids. HP #6 for my son and my daughter's 1st.
The weather finally broke for our fourteenth summit. Please go to http://50summits.blogspot.com to read all it.

All alone atop Ohio, and it was...cold. Well, I had to go back to the car to get my sweatshirt, anyway. Interesting only because at the bottom of the small hill I didn't need it. Quite peaceful.

Motherly Summit
I convinced my mother that during my trip to Indiana that it would be a good idea to drive to Ohio to complete my 11th State highpoint and her first. We had a good day. Back to bigger highpoints in Colorado.
