Can anyone identify this unknown peak located in the Cathedral Range? I stood on the block at the very top and took in a spectacular view! - Tuolumne Meadows / Cathedral Peak area

Re: Where from?

I came upon this pyramid of rock while approaching Cathedral Peak from Tioga Pass Road. I hiked in approximately 1/4 mile to the right of the climbers trail, although with all the snow cover it was hard to tell! From the top of this formation I followed a ridge that connected it to Cathedral Peak.

Re: Where from?

I don't think that this pyramid has a name, or at least I could not find it (I looked through 3 different topos). How does one go about naming a peak nowadays? :)

Re: Where from?

I guess we'll never know. Whatever the name, it sure was beautiful with it's pyramid-like shape. If the rock quality is good, I would like to go back sometime and climb the face...of Michele Peak, Michele Cliff, or whatever we want to call it!

Re: Where from?

Okay, now I know exactly where it is (I stood right next to it this September). This is a shoulder of Cathedral Peak on its North Ridge
