Canadian Rockies (Canmore, Alberta)

After a full day of ice climbing at the "Junkyards", the trail took us past this beautiful scene (Lady Macdonald on left and Grotto Mountain on right) ....perfect end to a perfect day.

Re: An Excellent

Thank you so much! Our mountains are not quite a big as yours, but to me, all mountains are so beautiful.

That must be

the most desirable Junkyard I've ever heard of.
One beautiful photo,
Happy ice climbing, Sylva,

Re: That must be

Yes, I've no clue why it's called what it is...someone at one time must have thought they were being witty by giving it that name and now we are all confused forever!

If this is a "Junkyard,"

then I'm a monkey's uncle!

Or ... perhaps I'm related to Geddy Lee !!!!

Lady MacDonald and Grotto

Mountain names - Lady Macdonald on left and Grotto Mountain on right - both scrambles although Lady Mac has interesting exposed ridge.

Re: Lady MacDonald and Grotto

Thanks so much Bill, I've added the names. You are so lucky to live where you live!

Re: Lady MacDonald and Grotto

Happy to help.
Calgary is a great place to live for mountain access. I have lived several other places but this is the best for me.
Take care.

Hola Sylva

Hey Girl, NICE PIC! Is that a picnic table in the background?

Re: Hola Sylva

Probably a barbeque grill. They do the ice-
fishing thing, then just PLOP the fish onto
the grill. Salt is added to the fish, and then
they just chow down !!!

Re: Hola Sylva

No, no picnic table anywhere! Because of you and others who shall remain nameless (LARRY) I now have a fear of picnic tables...to add to my fear of spiders and blue bags..thank you :-)

Give us more data, what Trips you have planned and we need more pics. Do you only take one terrific photo per trip now?

Re: Hola Sylva

Hola Steve....Answers: because they are creeeepy crawlies! (Yach). Am planning a June trip to the Alps again! (yahoooo and yippeee) Well, I have more pics from the last trip, but I thought I would spare the the nice people on SP from several hundred pics of me clawing my way up some ice thing. (you're welcome)

Hope you're keeping well and training hard...cheers!
