Captain of Shadows

Captain of Shadows

"... Valhalla, I am coming! On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the " western shore ... !!!" A granitic victim of spheroidal weathering stands watch over the western shore of Arizona's Watson Lake. Arizona's rock is a course-grained granite, similar to that found at Joshua Tree National Park, and the desert granites in the Phoenix area. Some of the rock is high-quality with crystalline edges, friction smears and vertical cracks. Other sections are brittle, crumbling and subject to breakage. Pick and choose. But ... please choose wisely. December 2, 2009

Re: Cool...

Thank you!

Is it true that your occupation is a real "blast?"

Great contrasts!

Light, shadow, colors, curves and lines.

One of your best, Larry!

Re: Great contrasts!

Thank you -You beat me to the quick!

Don't tell me it's that time of year when we
all gather around the tree, patiently awaiting the man in Red with the Big Bag.

We're anticipating snow in central Arizona, within the next few days...

Re: A beauty...

Thanks, Dean. Geez, felt like putting another
yule log on the fire today.

The temps in AZ are the lowest they have been
all year.

What a great time to huddle around the fire,
in anticipation of the Big Man dressed in
Red.

Re: Oh, what a scene!

Hvala, Vid!

Actually, snow is predicted to fall on these
Arizona rocks by tomorrow.

Re: Oh, what a scene!

You will hardly get a more nice scene, but with snow... worth trying.

Do you have a chance to sell your pictures, Larry? Or publish elsewhere? They're really great. A book of your best pictures, accompanied by chosen poems would be a boomer ;)

Cheers,
Vid

Re: Oh, what a scene!

Yes, I thought about doing something like
that in my retirement years.

Hopefully it will be a boomer, and not a
buster. And ... much more sooner than an impatient hustler. Take care, Vid!!
