Castle Dome presides imposingly above Root Creek Falls, in the Castle Crags Wilderness. The visible face of the dome is climbed by the East Face Route (aka Dike Route) 5.10c. It is over 2,000 feet from the falls to the summit. The falls have 5 visible tiers. The highest is barely discernible above and to the right of the main set of cataracts. It is amazing that this vista went unknown for so long. April2011.
