Cat Claw Acacia

Cat Claw Acacia

Cat Claw Acacia (Acacia greggii) photographed in Bearing Wash. Lake Mead Area, Nevada. Autumn 2007. Cat Claw Acacia is a shrub (or a tree) 6 feet to 25 feet in height and width. It is very common in washes and on rocky slopes below 5,000 feet throughout the southwestern U.S. The thorns which are scattered along the stems of the tree give it its common name. Another popular name of this plant is a "Wait-a-minute Bush"
