Like the White Mountains and the Adirondacks, the Catskills will always have a special place in my heart. Living in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Catskills provided me with a place nearby (2.5 hour drive) to get away and experience the mountains. This is where I honed my mountain chops and prepared for bigger adventures.
In addition, I love all of the surrounding hamlets and villages, as this is where my family is from. I can't wait to return one day!

35er
Finished my 35er requirements with a perfect hike up Kaaterskill High Peak. Up from Palenville, over Hawkeye Ledge via bushwhack, then up the south side via Hurricane Ledge.

Burroghs range
Backpacked burroughs range over the weekend. There are some nice scrambles, and the campsite at Giant ledge was wonderful. Will do this hike again in fall.
Landfill said it best, endless options. Hiked and hunted them with my father and grandfather when I was younger. Climbed them as a teenager. Fun times and great climbs.
