SW Ridge  Sucess!

Parked at the end of Spring Creek road (7800'). Hiked up through steep forest to gain the ridge. Never really encountered loose footing all the way to the summit. Afterwards I made a stop at Peak 10941. Was planning to descend that ridge for the loop, but instead opted for scree-skiing down into the Spring Creek drainage. 3:45 car to car

Pretty hike.  Sucess!

I was looking for a nice day climb from Boise and it occurred to me that I had been up most of the points near this, but not this! So, up I went. It's a very straightforward hike from Spring Creek following some old trails and then the south-west ridge. Not that loose for a Boulder peak!

Quick traverse  Sucess!

Quick traverse from Easley, then dropped into King Creek before hiking back to the truck. Using a bridge to cross the river was certainly easier than the thin log that sat almost in the water.

Double Peak  Sucess!

Climbed Cerro Ciento and then followed ridge over to Easley.

Traversed from Easley  Sucess!

Climbed the West Face of Easley on perfect snow, traversed the ridge to Cerro Ciento and enjoyed a great glissade into the valley separating the two peaks. Snowshoes were definitely mandatory on the approach/deproach.

Over from Easley  Sucess!

Very straight forward and easy ridge traverse from Easley. Windy, but great views and a pretty good work out on a day when I just wanted to zone out and not concentrate too hard on route finding. Reminded me of some of the easier Colorado 14ers.

Traverse  Sucess!

Traversed over to Cerro Ciento from Easley Peak, then had an awesome glissade down the valley that separates the two peaks. Dropped nearly 2500 vertical feet with only a couple short strolls mixed in. The weather and conditions were excellent, and we got back to the car just in time to minimize the post-holing as the snow started warming up. Here’s a write up and some photos.

Route Climbed: South Ridge (winter ascent) Date Climbed: December 17th/2005  Sucess!

Attempted to climb with Fo$IRock, but due to some equipment problems, he wasn't able to summit with me.

It was -11 at the trailhead and was a difficult snowshoe in through some deep snow but getting the experience of climbing such a mountain in winter was well worth the frigid conditions!
