Cerro Jello Jello summit ridge

Cerro Jello Jello summit ridge

Looking south along the ridge, close to the summit. Further away is the eastern part of Nevado Huarancante. In fact, there is a ridge extending further south connecting Jello Jello to an eastern subsidiary summit of Huarancante, ±5300m high and 1,5 km east of the true summit (which isn't in this photo). If my map would not have given Cerro Jello Jello a name, I would have considered it to be a subsidiary summit of Huarancante as well. The saddle between them, of course blocked from view by the summit of Jello Jello itself, is just under 5100m. As you can see from the long shadows, sunset is not far away. And the soft light sure helps with the colors. Here's the sunset I saw shortly after: 21 May 2011.

Re: Very beautiful...

Thanks Hiltrud.
It's a beautiful area indeed, especially with the right light.
