A Month Of Volcanoes  Sucess!

I spent a month climbing volcanoes with a few non-volcanoes for good measure. Terbi is a nice hike and puts you up by the Crestones where you can get a good view of them.

Other peaks I bagged on this trip include...

Mexico:
Volcán La Malinche, Cofre de Perote, Pico de Orizaba (country highpoint, 3rd highest in North America), Volcán Iztaccíhuatl, Pico de Aguila, Nevado de Toluca, Cerro de Ombugo, Pico de Humboldt, Nevado de Colima, Cerro Tancitaro

Guatemala:
Volcán Pacaya, Volcán Tajumulco (country highpoint, 24th most prominent peak on earth), Volcán Concepción, Volcán Tacaná (2nd highest in Central America), Cerro Chemal "La Torre", Cerro Chemal "Cerro los Cuervos", Montañas Peña Blanca, Volcán Santa María, Volcán Atitlán, Volcán Acatenango

Costa Rica:
Volcán Poás, Volcán Barva, Volcán Irazú, Cerro Chirripó (country highpoint, 36th most prominent on earth), Cerro Piramide, Cerro Buenavista

Cerro Terbi  Sucess!

Day hiked along with Chirripo. We did Terbi after Chirripo on the hike down. Great route from the trail junction of Chirripo and Terbi, up and over Terbi, and down through the Crestones to refuge hut.

Terbi  Sucess!

One mountain is never enough (I climbed Chirripo the day before), so day three was spent climbing Cerro Turbi/Cerro Crestones, and Cerro Ventisqueros. This time we could see all the way to the Pacific Ocean, but the Carribean side was socked in. Much of the day was also spent playing and throwing rocks in the stream with my 20 month old son Kessler.

Cerro Terbi  Sucess!

Hiked up from town, and summited Terbi, as the sun was setting. Great ridge hike!

All the way  Sucess!

Very nice hike along the ridge between Terbi and Crestones. I made it all the way to the Cerro Crestones itself. It is well worth it.
