Beautiful day for a hike, started @ 8:00a.m, got back to the car @ noon. Took lots of breaks since this was the 1st climb of the year. Saw mondo amounts of dear and even three antelope. Very cool. Hardly a breeze which made for a pleasant rest after reaching the top. Saw lots of people from SP/Idahosummits on the logs, added my own now. Had a blast!

SE Ridge
JP (Splattski) took me, my dog, and Gordy up his Denali training route. We were probably about an hour off his best pace but he patiently stayed with for the whole trip. Great view from the top.

Nice Day
Nice day with fog rolling over the top off and on. Went up 'The Rocks' route.
Climbed with my little bro for my second peak since shoulder surgery. Was a nice steep heart pounding grade. Should come in useful as a steep training mountain. Was my bro's first summit. Was a beautiful day!

Cramp-ons
Started up the steep NW ridge with cleated snow shoes, but about half way up needed cramp-ons and used them all the way down with little post holing. I used a Whip-It hiking pole, but also had my ice ax along. The north summit ridge was corniced like I've never seen and the summit register and half the flag pole were buried in snow.

Nice Mountain
A really fun snowshoe. Saw a lot of deer and elk and it was really windy in spots. Great local mountain with a lot of good looking routes. The view was also really great.

West Ridge
Lots of fresh snow on top. Saw 4 elk on the way. Made it to within about 100 yards of the top, but the deep snow and cornices made it a bit too dificult to move and I didnt have snowshoes with me. The snow was about 4 feet deep. Fun route. I brought the ice axe but a treking pole would have probably done the trick. That Rocky Canyon route looks like a blast...might have to try it before I head back north.
