A warm up
Did this as a warm up for Huayna Potosi, hiked to the old ski lodge & parking lot at 5300 metres, camped and summited the next day, suprisingly great views.
Road up was a bit eventful.. Nice day. Thin air. Good few hours of acclimatization getting ready for Condoriri range. Absolutely great views of Huayna Potosi.

great way to acclimate
like most everyone else, our crew drove up to the lodge from La Paz and did the short hike to the summit. Great views of Huayna Potosi
Took a bus to the chalet and then the short walk to the top. Cold and windy but nice views and good acclimatisation.

Chacaltaya
Second trip to the top for me; significantly less snow than on my previous visit in March 2003. 1.1 miles round trip from refuge (17234 feet) to summit (17703 feet).

Good acclimatization
I enjoyed this cruiser peak as an acclimatization hike before getting farther into the mountains. I wish we could have spent more time up top, although we did the trip as an organized tour, so it was a bit rushed. See the TR here: http://www.summitpost.org/an-expedition-in-the-bolivian-andes/547342

very high slog!
My very first high altittude ascent.Prior to start the ice climbing schol. Some of the group stayed at the first false summit after the hut.Note...there are 3 our 4 false tops until the very top of Chacaltaya (100 elevation gain from the hut), and its a large plataform with a small apacheta (markstone). Made it with my friend Renato. I will try to post this pic.
The Best for aclimatize!

Acclimatization
Hiked up with my guide, Eduardo Mamani, two days after leaving Denver. Windy, with great views, particularly of HP. If you want to save $, take a bus, but don't go all the way to the top parking lot if you want to get the most out of your hike for acclimatization. You can get lunch in the old lodge.
