Charleston Peak

Charleston Peak

View of Charleston Peak along the North Loop Trail. Spring Mountains, Nevada. June 2008. There is actually a great camping spot to the left of the picture. I have never camped along this trail but if I were to this spot would be my choice. There are more campsites higher up along the North Loop trail, but they don't have as good of a view.

That is an

outstanding view! Anya, did you hear about a small aircraft crashing on Charleston, and causing a small forest fire? Seems to me that
would happen quite a lot. Here in central AZ,
we're experiencing our FIRST 'good rain' in
9 weeks, and it cleaned out the smoke that
was drifting in from California.

It's a pleasant spot Larry. Henry and Hadrian camped here once while I slept on the summit during the meteor showers. They had a nice hot cup of coffee ready for me when I returned the next morning.
Yes, I heard about the plane crash. We had to change our hiking plans today due to that. It sounds like it just barely missed some houses.
Ahh, Rain! I almost forgot what rain is! I guess the monsoon season is coming any time now.
Cheers!

Oh, I didn't know of your interest in
astronomy! Guess I already told you of my
sighting of the Northern Lights in Arizona.
It was the most amazing thing I've seen ...
so far. There's always something new to see!!
Cheers to you.
