I found this to be a great hike. Along the way there is a nice spring to refresh your water supply.

Wow the Bunion has it's own page. I agree with the author, it is one of the most memorable spots in SMNP. I'll have to dig out some pics...

I've hiked up to Charlies Bunion from several routes, all eventually via the Appalachian Trail, along which the Bunion stands. It's one of the most impressive sights along the entire length of the Southern Appalachians, in my opinion. Everyone who enjoys hiking should see Charlies Bunion when they visit the Great Smokies. Well worth the trip.



Lots of bears in this section of the park, in my experience. I almost always encounter bears on this section of the AT.
