Charybdis in Ionian Basin

On a cold and windy evening in the Ionian Basin, the sun breaks through the clouds to illuminate Charybdis. Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP, Sierra Nevada, California, USA. August 2010.

Another fine

Thanks. Not much you can do when you're in the middle of the wilderness with equipment failure. Luckily, I had a video cam, and access to the point and shoot which I just used like an old range finder. Even still, I was jonesing for SLR quality.

Nice shot of Charybdis! This is an awesome 13,000 ft. peak. I'd love to do it some day, but it's difficult to get to.
