Fun, Easy Pitstop
Definitely among the most convenient state high points I've come across so far. Only about 14 miles off the interstate on a thanksgiving trip to see my wife's sister's family in Meridian, Mississippi. Nice little park. Carried my two year old son on my shoulders from the gift shop to the summit. We had to stop to ride the slide near the top. His first high point and my fifteenth.

Fifteenth HP
This one came near the end of a long trip of HP's (15th on a trip of 16) so we needed to be on our way home. Accordingly, we drove to the top. The lookout tower was really neat though (especially from the outside).

HP #23
Hit this high point as part of a road trip to texas with the family. We saw quite a few deer right around the HP.
Took the lake trail which I had all to myself. Fun times and perfect weather.

The hard way!
Summited this "mountain" as the final 2 miles in the Mount Cheaha 50 k ultramaration. The final uphill push was a cruel joke after running nine hours so far that day! Great weather, fantastic volunteer support on the course.

This was the first of three states that my trip was taking me on, unfortunately I got a late start from the airport in Birmingham so I had to drive up to this high point. I was also going to camp at the lake but the weather was turning ugly fast so I chose to stay at the hotel which was very nice. I also ate at the restaurant that provided amazing views of the valley below. I was blown away at the beauty of this mountain and the surrounding area.

This was part of a weekend doing Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama... not the most exciting but better than sitting around the house! I stayed the night at the motel in the park. It was nice.

Pinhoti 100 Mile Race
Summited ~ mile 41 of the Pinhoti 100 mile Endurance Race. An a mazingly beautiful trail and experience. Never would have thought Alabama would be so gorgious, quite the fall showing compared to what I am used to in Utah. Would have liked to soak in the views a bit more, then again I was in a race that was only going to get a whole lot tougher....

HP #9
I camped at the campgrounds at the top, then hiked down to the Lake and back up to make it official. A beautiful (although a little chilly) fall morning hike. Came back up the Rock Gardens Trail, added a little bit of a challenge. The fall colors were a very nice addition

Southern Trifecta
The third of a trifecta weekend with my wife. We visited both Woodall Mountain and Britton Hill on Oct 15th and Cheaha Mountain on Oct 16th. This is my 49th state highpoint! Next stop; Mauna Kea!

More than expected
Great views, nice stone buildings at the top, and cooler weather than what you get down at the base of the mountain. Surprisingly steep in some sections. Loved it.

Thanks, Ed!
Enjoyed a brief road trip with Ed and met Kate from work-related travel to Atlanta. HP #23! The summit was a bit overwhelming with all the TV and comm. towers but the short hike to Pulpit Rock produced wonderful views! Really enjoyed all the CCC era stone buildings!
