No, this is not a hillside. The shrubbery (monte python stuff)covers up the steepness on both sides of this section. It is easy to just follow the rock up towards the summit and is probably the fun part of the hike. The brush can tear your arm up as I found out so a long sleeve shirt isn't a bad idea. 3-28-09
