Cliffs near Ptarmigan Tunnel

As weather was getting worse and worse three days earlier and I couldn't find the correct route down to the tunnel, I found myself attempting a few different ways to downclimb these cliffs. Not one of them worked, and it should be pretty easy to see why. I ended up regaining the ridge and then negotiating scree slopes and small cliff bands to reach the trail below at Ptarmigan Lake. This was not the correct descent route from the Ptarmigan goat trail, but it worked and got me out of danger. Glacier National Park, Montana-- August 2009
