Wow....looks more like something from the west side than the Pearly Gates. Where exactly in the Gates was this?

Re: Wow....This was in the entrance to the narrowest part. Apparently, meltwater from the summit snowfield creates an ice flow (60-70 ft long) there this time of year. That day, even the rest of the mountain was covered with a thick ice layer. I had to place a couple screws descending through the Pearly Gates to maintain sanity. Bergschrund to Gates exit was much more of a strenuous frontpointing session than anything on Reid last May.

Re: Wow....front pointing up the South Side? Man, just a reminder of how variable conditions on high mountains can be, awesome photo. God, I still can't believe this shot in some ways.
