Cloud waves over Pyramid Mountain

Cloud waves over Pyramid Mountain

The morning of September 13, 2008 started off with a brilliant, cloudless blue sky. However, not long after sunrise delicate cirrus clouds began drifting eastward up the Miette River valley, towards the town of Jasper, Alberta. Seeing the potential of the sky, I made the quick drive up to Cottonwood Slough, and was rewarded with this superb scene: Pyramid Mountain, in the centre, and its two neighbours to the west, Mount Kinross and Cairngorm, are bathed in the warm light of early morning, as is the foliage of the marsh in the foreground; above it all, the banks of clouds radiate out to the four corners of the image.

Re: extra shot

Thank you, Hans. A photographer is only as good as the subject he shoots. The Canadian Rockies are an embarrassment of riches.
