Day trip from Yosemite Valley. Great snow but less than a hundred feet of visibility on the summit. Clouds Rest at its best!
Beautiful day great friends, Lunch on Clouds rest after sunrise breakfast on Half Dome.
Hiked to Clouds Rest & Half dome from Tenaya Lake. Perfect weather!
Backpacked in from Tuolumne Meadows. Then Half Dome the next day then to to Valley.
Saw two people talking on their cell phones. I brought my handheld hamradio and made a simplex contact to a guy 35 miles away.
Uneventful day hike with friends. A little too much forest hiking for my liking but the view from the ridge and summit is awesome!
1st trip to Tuolumne Meadows. Hiked with Jillian. Great nap on the summit!
Easy hike with amazing views.
Camped at tht top of Clouds Rest on my 8th day of 11day backpacking trip. It was so beautiful watching the Sunset and Sunrise from the peak. Only the problem was there were tons of mosquite out there and I got to stay in the tent until sun goes down.

Pleasant hike from the Sunrise trailhead on a beautiful day. Very popular trail.
Better than Half Dome. Best View!
Beautiful morning. Hiked from Happy Isles. Tons of hikers heading up Mist Trail on my descent.
Solo hike from Tenaya Peak. Pretty hike but wanted something more than Class 1. Peak tagged, view enjoyed....perfect weather. Ran most of the way.
I'm going hike Cloud's Rest for the first time this July. I have nobody to hike it with. Hiking alone has it's own dangers. I have questions. 1) Should I worry about hiking alone on this? 2) How do I find somebody to hike with? If you could respond to my email address, I'd sure appreciate it! email@example.com. THANKS!!!
You should have no problem with this hike in July no matter which direction you start, Tanaya Lake or Happy Isles. Take a light jacket, water and a filter. It normally takes us between 8 and 12 hours to complete and while the view is amazing the hike itself is not hard at all.
Normal route from Tenaya Lake. Perhaps the best views for a class 1 peak in Yosemite.
Here's my account
I day-hiked the trail from Tenaya Lake and back on a late September Friday. There were few other hikers that day, and I had the summit to myself for over an hour. The panoramic view is wonderful.
A bit of a haze in the valley. Great view otherwise. I liked Clark Peak a lot.
Everyone who visits YNP should do this peak. The views in every direction are amazing and the hike will not dissapoint.
