After the two Emmas, we followed the utility road to the saddle at ~4350' and then up the steep western ridge to the summit. The heavy rains early in the week really help solidify the footing. No views as the summit was socked in a cloud.
Very windy day, little bit of snow left on the top.
after emma, old emma, and pt 5080.
Sustained winds of 30mph with gusts up to 50mph almost blew me over a few times but made for clear views.
Tough to find. Steep, loose, hot, windy with good views.
A hot day. We grabbed the Emma's along with this one! Whew!!
out and back, jeebus, 6000 ft gain 12 miles
Enjoyable hike on a beautiful day.
Another day of HPS peakbagging, another fine day of weather in SoCal. Trip Report
Part of a three peak day with an HPS group. Enjoyable hike.
With Travis & Coco -- very windy
A little barren, but nice hike, decent elevation gain (4500 ft total for Old Emma, Emma and Cole Point). A bit of a roller coaster hike.
Here is my GPS track, elevation profile and google map of our hike
Didn't find the right start point but getting to the main ridge is a no brainer and I hooked up off a subsidiary ridge. The shooting range echoing below is pure harmony to the ears as you hike.
A great little peak with great views, though I think the Emmas were more interesting. Did a quick drive up to Mount Gleason afterwards.
