Beautiful climb  Sucess!

Great route. Got stuck on the Coleman in the open under a passing lightning storm...a little scary, but it only lasted about an hour; glad we weren't higher like some others were.

Great Climb!  Sucess!

Summited as part of a 3 day skills clinic with AAI. Weather could not have been better, great trip! Here are some photos and brief write-up.

Second time on Baker  Sucess!

Came up the North side on this climb. I recall the sulpher emmissions at high camp were enough to make you gag.

Variety  Sucess!

This route has it all. Beautiful old growth rain forest, fun snow slopes, a fairly steep headwall, and few crevasses. It's a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable climb.

No clouds in the sky  Sucess!

Black Buttes to the summit in 3.5 hours or so. Pretty eerie to climb by starlight over the Coleman Glacier. Snow was awesome, and we made it from the summit to the cars in 4 hours.

Above the clouds  Sucess!

Black Buttes to summit in 3:45. Because the mountain was so much warmer than the day before, the decent was tedious with all the punching through. Between the pumice ridge and Black Buttes wasn't much fun, as we were up to our knees half the time.

Nice detour  Sucess!

Intended to climb the headwall but was turned back by crevasses. Headed up this route instead and was very pleased.

Snowbridges!  Sucess!

FUn trip, decent weather. Lots of cool open crevasses. Pretty good snowbridges.

Car to car in one push  Sucess!

Climbed the C/D route solo overnight, 9/9/07-9/10/07, car to car in one push. Crevasses were hairy, and the route was straight up ice in places. Getting up was definitely easier than getting down in places.

Coleman Glacier  Sucess!

What an intense climb! Pretty easy going (until you reach the Roman Wall) but dangerouse territory along the way.

CD Blitz  Sucess!

Car to Car in 12.5 hours. On summit at 6:30am, best fourth of July yet, good conditions - the lightning that chased us down the mountain

The Roman Wall

Spent the first night below Black Buttes. Awoke at 12AM and after crossing a few snow bridges, reached the summit via the Roman Wall at 7:15 AM. It was a little hairy coming down the Roman Wall. Saw some people belaying down it. That might be a good way to go. Perfect weather conditions all weekend, almost no wind and not a cloud in the sky for hundreds of miles.

Woot  Sucess!

Car to Car 14 hours. The Roman Wall was hard as a rock and sketchy..
