"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

NE Ridge4/8/07 - Spring slog up the northwest ridge from Horn Creek TH. Nasty wind & blowing snow above treeline. Zero views from summit.
2/5/17 - Winter ascent of northwest ridge from just shy of the Horn Creek TH. Nasty wind up high, 50+ mph. At least there were good views this time, though I could barely brace myself well enough to take photos from the summit!

The long and windy ridgeMan! That ridge felt really long. The forecast was for cloudy and 10-15 mph winds. I was hoping that would keep the snow firm enough so I wouldn't be in post-hole hell. Well, the forecast was wrong. Very sunny and much windier. Great! Still a pretty nice day.

NE Ridge from Horn CreekNortheast Ridge from the Horn Creek trailhead, hike about 3 miles down the Rainbow Trail to Macey Lakes trail, cross Macey Creek and then bushwhack up the NE ridge to treeline. About 12 1/2 mile RT, but all the elevation gain is in the last 3 miles so it is a steep one!
