Where is this?

My in-laws live in Grand Junction so I'm out in that neighborhood fairly often. That area looks really cool! Where is it? How do I get there?

My suggestion would be to PM Seth, he would be glad to give you an exact description and probably show you himself! this was a very fun area, Seth describes the area breifly on the comments above...

Re: Where is this?

Its on the left, or SE side of the Tiara Tower above Tiara Rado Golf Course. Technically you should start from the access at Liberty Cap, or Gold Star Canyon, attain the bench, and follow the unofficial (but awesome!) Bench Trail to the tower, and go up the left side of the prominent tower above th golf course/town. If you are feeling spry, corss behind the tower friction across to the second body size chimney and fourth class up the sandy crack. Continue up the little alcove to a tricky step-over to the left above the bowl to the rim. Traverse the rim to the right, or NW, to the prominent notch. Drop in and use Otto's handy-work to descend the main gully into the "Box Canyon". With extra time see the large stone bridge (arch) under the dome left of the descent gully. Roped climbs populate across to the right side of Box Canyon.

If you are feeling spry, cross climber's right behind the tower, friction across to the second body size chimney and fourth class up the sandy crack. Continue up to the right side of the little alcove to a fairly obvious, but tricky slightly, overhanging step-over to the left above the bowl and to the rim. Traverse the rim (100 yards) to the right/NW to the prominent notch right of Tiara Tower. Drop in and use Otto's handy-work, and wide stemming (where some scum bags removed Otto's relics from the route) to descend the main gully into the "Box Canyon". With extra time see the large stone bridge (arch) up high under the large "under-dome" left of the descent gully. Roped climbs populate across to the right side of Box Canyon.

Re: Where is this?

and, you don;t have to go up this to reach the base of the tower, this is extra credit, kinda scary.
